Where The Red Fern Grows

Where The Red Fern Grows is probably one of my favorite books of all time!! It is about a boy named Billy who's been saving up for two hound dogs for almost a year. Finally he has enough money saved up, Billy gets a male dog and a female dog. These dogs mean everything to Billy. One of my favorite things about this book is that it starts out when Billy is an adult and looking back at his life. I couldn't put this book down. This book is sad, but has a happy ending. Billy teaches these dogs everything he knows about hunting. Billy's hound dogs become amazing at hunting. When there were sad or happy parts I could feel Billy's emotions. I recommend this book to everyone, especially dog lovers! I hope all of you read it!

  7. Oh, I can not read dog books. I am a natural crier as I read, and I think that this would be a full-box-of-kleenex book. Ever since I read THe Incredible Journey I have recognized my own limitations as a reader. I do know (because my daughter read it) that it is a great book with wonderful characters. She absolutely enjoyed every word.

I also can not read horse books
